I must repent........

Image
I did something yesterday (by accident of course) that I vowed that I would never ever do. I fed my 2 precious and wonderful children hot dogs and green beans!!!!!! Ok, Ok, Ok, I know that there are only a hand full of people who understand this!!!!! Sorry, I will explain! My father is the most wonderful father in the whole wide world. He is dedicated to us and he always did everything he could to love us the way we needed to be loved, and raise us up right! However, when my parents got a divorce, there was a cooking problem. Dad didn't know how!!!!!! Soooooooo, needless to say, we had hotdogs and greenbeans ALOT. And, when I say ALOT, I mean like, every day ALOT! So, one day when he said to us, "well girls, what should we have for dinner? Hot dogs and green beans OR (oh YAY there is an or) green beans and hot dogs?" I thought I would cry!!!! I vowed that day never to eat hot dogs and green beans again and NEVER EVER feed that to my children!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahaha But, ala

thank you for your prayers

Thank you so much for all of your prayers. I definetly feel better today, although not a lot has changed with the actual information that I have recieived regarding my adoption. I am still not able to give specific details, but I do feel the Lord's peace and I feel His arms wrapped around me and the kids. Thank you so much for your prayers and PLEASE continue to keep us in your prayers. We still have some things ahead of us it seems that are or could be very very difficult. When I can give specifics I will, I promise. Please continue to pray that the Lord will bind satan and not allow him to cause any damage to me and my beautiful children. I am truely appreciative of your prayers. Sincerely, Cheri Kay

Need Prayers

I really am just feeling attacked. I can't tell you any specifics, but I am pleading for your prayers tonight. Please pray that the Lord will bind satan from me, my life and my children. Please I am feeling so sad and scared and I just need the Lord's peace. I know that He has me and my children in HIS hands and He loves us more than we can imagine. I pray that He will protect us from all the harm and discouragement that satan is bringing to us today. Will you please pray for this with me. Please pray that the Lord will protect me and my children from any and all harm. That satan will NOT come and ruin our lives. I wish I could tell you the situation, it's just right now I can't. Please, just help me with your prayers. Thank you Cheri Kay

Hurricane Gustav

Image
Well, the most amazing thing to me today is that I HAVE INTERNET!!!!! Yes, Hurricane Gustav is here. We've had lots of rain and wind all day. Near my house, things are not too bad, but I have heard from my friends in Jacmel that things there are very difficult with lots and lots of wind and rain, lots of damage, and lots of flooding. School was cancelled today so we had a bit of a down day and some time to catch up. It was nice, for me at least!!! I could use another one tomorrow, but I am not hopefull for that!!!! It wouldn't be nice to pray for that just so that I can have another day off. The poorer Haitians have enough to deal with, without a hurricane coming through to flood their mud huts, take their roofs off and damage the little bit that they own. I took some pics of the kids in long pants and long sleeve shirts because that happens about once a year here in Haiti! They look so cute in their jeans and long sleeve shirts! Please keep all of us here in Haiti in your

Ecrissa's Caterpillar and Praising the Lord

Well, unfortunately, I don't have pictures, but we were at a friends house today and their little girl found a caterpillar. Ecrissa wanted to hold it and she had so much fun letting that thing crawl all over her. Over her fingers, switching hands, up her arms, up her neck and back down her shirt! She was having so much fun with her little friend. So, we got a little plastic easter egg and put it in there to take it home. Well, but the time I got her, Jaryse and myself in the car, she had let the thing loose! Of course, so on our way home, all I could think was, "Oh Boy! I have a caterillar loose in my car!" By the time we got home, she had found it and had it back in it's little make shift house! However, oh yes, there is a however!!!!! When she got into the house, she took it right out of the egg, dropped it and oh yes, she stepped on it! I have never seen my little girl cry and wail the way that she did when she figured out what happened to this poor little creature

The "zoo"

Image
Up the mountain just a bit from our house is the Baptist Mission. This is a long standing mission here in Haiti that has alot of different programs, stores, churches, hospitals, etc. At this particular place, they have a greenhouse and a small "zoo". The zoo has 1 monkey, 1 iguana, some bunnies/rabbits, some fish, some peacocks, some ducks, a crocidile and a snake. I think that is the extent of the zoo! But, let me tell you, the kids loved it! They loved looking at the birds and the rabbits, but most of all the monkey! He was very active and squealing and "talking" and stuff. Jaryse was quite intrigued with him! We went with our friends, Julie White and her children Abby and William. Abby and Ecrissa were in the same class last year, so Abby knows some signs, and the girls really enjoy playing with each other! There was also a small playground with a slide, a not functional swing, and a tree to climb! The kids enjoyed the slide and the tree! Ecrissa is

Idoris

So much has happened the past week, it'll take a couple of posts to catch you all up on it!!! LOL!!! The internet is not working well enough right now to upload all of the pics that I want to share with you, so I am going to do more later! Anyway, this is Idoris. The baby that I have talked about that was abandoned at the hospital up north. He has severe disabilities and has been living in a hospital bed with minimal care provided to him. I finally was able to coordinate the transfer of him from the hospital to an orphanage in Jacmel where he'll be cared for and loved! Last Friday, I drove with my kids and my friend Heather up to Des Chappelles where the hospital is located and brought him back to Port au Prince with me. That was quite a day! 3 hours of driving north, 3 hours to get him out of the hospital, and 3 hours driving south again!!!! He stayed the night with me and on Saturday morning, the kids, my friend Denise and I drove him to Jacmel. He was such a good litt

Another "first time" that I forgot to share

A couple days before we went to the beach, the kids got to play in the sprinkler at my friends house! That is something that they have not done before! They have been sprayed with the hose, swimming, and such, but never actually ran through a sprinkler! They thought it was great fun and we laughed and laughed at them! My friends are hosting 2 Haitian girls that they may adopt and they played too as well as the older daughter of my friends. It was pretty cute! We didn't really plan this activity, which is why you'll see all the little brown bodies in just underwear!!!!! I have so much fun watching my children learn, grow, and have so many new opportunities daily! I thank the Lord every night for my little blessings and their amazing lives!

Moving forward and enjoying life!

Image
Ok , so after my last couple weeks of being really sad that there are so many problems with our adoption and stuff, I have vowed to move forward and enjoy life. I will no longer live for "when we go home", I am living for today! Ok , so to be honest, I have vowed this about a million times, but this time I MEAN IT!!!!!!!!!!! I started with a day at the beach! Well, it was sort of the beach. One of the ladies that I know at the school has a house on the water, but the "beach" is all rocks! The water was clear and beautiful, I almost forgot it was Haiti--except, I didn't! LOL ! The kids had a wonderful time playing in the water and the "sand/rocks"! They are both doing such a great job in the water, putting themselves under water and swimming underwater for a couple of feet! I am amazed at both of my little fish! Then, I got to try my hand at some minor surgery! Last week, I assisted my friend that is a doctor here in a circumcision, and he let
