Whew, another week down and the start of a week of break. It is Carnival here in Haiti this week so we don't have school. I am thrilled for that, but along with that vacation comes more delays in waiting for our visa's. Last Monday was an American Holiday and Monday and Tuesday for sure are Haitian Holidays (sometimes the President will declare days following the actual holiday a national holiday as well.....we'll see). The US embassy here celebrates both Haitian and American Holidays, as they have Americans and Haitians working in the offices. I guess I can understand, and really, what's a few more days to wait. I've already waited this long. If God can provide for us for almost three years, I am pretty sure he can handle three days of holiday delays. :) This dog above with Jaryse is Roscoe. He is the sweetest dog. Jaryse loves him and I think Roscoe likes Jaryse a bit too. He tolerates a four year olds not so gentle hands and unpredictable behavior so well. Th

I still love Haiti

Haiti makes me laugh, Haiti makes me cry, Haiti has made me cry ALOT Haiti makes me angry, Haiti makes me happy, Haiti makes me sad, Haiti confuses me, Haiti teaches me, Haiti makes me strong Haiti makes me weak Haiti introduces me to myself Haiti kills me. I really think I could go on like this forever about this little nation. I have never had so many emotional ups and downs. Some days, I can go through them all within a 24 hour period. That, let me tell you is exhausing. But really, tonight, I just wanted to tell a story about how Haiti will forever make me keenly aware of all of my emotions, especially bewilderment and laughter. One of the things you hear alot from people who are associated with Haiti in any way is "well, it's Haiti" or "only in Haiti" and that is what I thought tonight. So, today, when I opened the gate to put my car in the drive way, I had an UN-invited visitor. A CHICKEN. Yes, I said a chicken. Now, in Haiti, people allow their an

I am still a little boggled by all of this!!!! It seems so weird that after 20 months of NOTHING we now have passports!!!!!! I am in AWE, SHOCK, BEWILDERMENT AND ABSOLUTE GRATEFULNESS to all who have loved us through this! I am nervous for all of the upcoming changes, but I know that they'll be good changes so I am also excited for them!!!! On another note, my little princess fell off the monkey bars and has a fat lip, a scratched up chin, and a loose tooth! Luckily, it's a tooth that is still a baby tooth and one she should be losing soon anyway! She is a cranky little girl and resists eating, but she'll heal up soon I'm sure! It sure is tough being a kid! :) Luvs and hugs from the Sessions Family in Haiti!
So, today at about 2:37, I was driving and I prayed to the Lord, Father, I know this isn't too big for you! I really really would like passports today. I know the office is almost closed, but Father, please, let them release my passports, if the guy has already checked, please lay it on his heart to check again and let the office release them! I prayed this prayer, until I parked my car, about 2:40, walked into a store, walked out and noticed a missed call at 2:45, I called it back, it was the guy who was checking on passports---WE GOT THEM!!!!!! WE HAVE OUR PASSPORTS!!!!!!!!! Did you hear a really loud OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was me this afternoon! I am so very very excited! I can hardly think straight! Thank you for all your prayers!!!! I know they work! I see it in my life everyday, and I am convinced! Prayer is powerful!!!!!! Praise the Lord for He is GOOD!!!!

My princess!
