UH OH.....................

I'm slipping!!!!!!!

We made it home a full year and now I can't keep up on my blog!!!!LOL!!!!!  It's been a very full couple of weeks but it has mostly been good things!  We are starting our spring break and the kids are loving it!  It's a little harder on me as I'm trying to schedule babysitters and such, but at least the demands of doing homework and preparing everything for school the next day has left me time to update the blog!!!!!

Saturday, we took a family fun day to the beach, the kids rode their bikes, I walked, and we played at the park.  It was so relaxing and I totally enjoyed being out in the sunshine watching my kids smile, run, play and just enjoy being kids.  I'm so grateful for the blessings that we have that allow us these simple pleasures. Sometimes I feel guilty for them, but I know that each minute I have is a gift from God!

Then on Sunday we had our typical church in the morning and Ballet in the afternoon...........Which of course was topped off with a MICHIGAN STATE SPARTAN VICTORY TO MOVE ONTO THE FINAL FOUR!!!!   Yes, that's me screaming in delight!!!!  I am one very very happy Spartan fan!!!

Church was fun though and it was fun to watch the kids.  The were both so funny!  They both acted like they were preaching before the service actually started. Ecrissa even had the Bible open in her hands at one point while making noises with her voice into the microphone.   Very Funny and very cool.  She is doing better and better every day with her hearing and listening skills. I am very impressed and very encouraged.

So this week I'm looking forward to a bit less stress and HOPING for another Spartan win (or 2!!!!)

Go STATE!!!!!!!!!

Believe it or not.................................

Today, March 12th, is our 1 year anniversary of coming home to America!  My amazing children became American Citizens on this day!!!!!  I am in awe as I sit and look at these pics and remember the last year!  I can't believe that it's been a year.  I feel like it was just yesterday!  Yet, so much has changed in all 3 of our lives, in Haiti, and in the lives of those that we love so dearly.  We continue to pray for Haiti!  The kids may have become American Citizens, but they are still Haitian and they, along with everyone in Haiti, has made my heart partly Haitian too!

Praise with us today please, as we celebrate God's promises and His faithfulness.  God is faithful to finish the good works that he started in all of us.  I've seen it first hand.  It's hard to believe sometimes, but I can see it so clearly in retrospect, that what He promises He WILL deliever, in HIS timing, for HIS glory!  Thank you Jesus for loving this little family!!!!!!!

Just a couple pics from the weekend!

We have had a good week so far!
These pics are from this weekend. Our awesome friend, Mia (or auntie Mia to the kids) had a birthday and her friends and I surprised her with a little birthday party at our house.  These are pics of the kids making her Birthday Cake!!!!!

And this pic is the kids hanging out on the couch for Friday Rest Night!  We were just settling in for our family movie and they looked so cute sitting together under the blanket!

Friday Night REST!!!!!

Our weekend has started!  It's Friday night and there is nothing pressing that is scheduled between now and Sunday morning!!!! YAY!!!!!!  The kids and I have begun our movie and we are just hanging out.  I really cherish this time with them.  Monday through Friday (until 3PM) we are packed full with all sorts of things that I really cherish our time on Friday nights and all day Saturday to just hang together with no real pressure to do anything specific.

Today I spent much of my day remembering.  March 5th, 2009 was the day that the kids and I went to the US Embassy for our Visa appointment!  I remember being so nervous.  There were many days in my life prior to this date that I was unsure if that day would ever actually arrive!!!!!

I'm so grateful for all that we have.  I think I say that in almost every post that I make, but it's so true.  I often pinch myself to prove to myself that this is all real!!!!

And now, here is my little girl, with her 3 week old cochlear implant learning about sound!  No, I am not forcing her to become my little Cinderella!!!!  Her speech therapist suggested that she get to vacuum to learn about the sound and begin to correlate that "noise" with the vacuum cleaner.  She really had fun and hopefully she is beginning to understand that sound.  Although, I won't argue with her if she decides to take on a chore!!! :)
