A few more pics

Whew, another week down and the start of a week of break. It is Carnival here in Haiti this week so we don't have school. I am thrilled for that, but along with that vacation comes more delays in waiting for our visa's. Last Monday was an American Holiday and Monday and Tuesday for sure are Haitian Holidays (sometimes the President will declare days following the actual holiday a national holiday as well.....we'll see). The US embassy here celebrates both Haitian and American Holidays, as they have Americans and Haitians working in the offices. I guess I can understand, and really, what's a few more days to wait. I've already waited this long. If God can provide for us for almost three years, I am pretty sure he can handle three days of holiday delays. :)

This dog above with Jaryse is Roscoe. He is the sweetest dog. Jaryse loves him and I think Roscoe likes Jaryse a bit too. He tolerates a four year olds not so gentle hands and unpredictable behavior so well. The other morning, Jaryse came in and told me that he was brushing the doggy, and as he was saying this, he was holding the scraper thing that you scrape all the burnt stuff off of a grill. OUCH---Then I noticed, a big huge clump of the poor dogs coat in this not so gentle "brush". YIKES :)

We got a package from my mom and it had some princess press on finger nails for my little princess--OOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEE, is that little girl loving those nails. She wore them to church and was very proud of her beautiful nails. She loves being the little princess that she is :)

At our friends house, they have a small concrete hole and they filled it with water while the kids played in it. It is only about 5 or so inches deep and the kids had a blast. They were running, spraying each other, jumping in the water and just having a blast. I love to watch this young fun and listen to their awesome giggles. The other little girl in the pic is Kaydence. She's a doll and only about six months younger than Jaryse. They love to play with each other.

They also have a blond wig. Doesn't Ecrissa look stunning as a Blond??????
And, who is this gorgeous blond..................................???????

Someday he'll be really mad at me for putting these pics on the internet, but he's sooooooooo stinkin' cute I can't help it :)
Please continue to Pray us home. I am praying that the Embassy will open on Wed. and that forward movement will happen and we'll be given a visa appointment very soon.

I still love Haiti

Haiti makes me laugh,
Haiti makes me cry,
Haiti has made me cry ALOT
Haiti makes me angry,
Haiti makes me happy,
Haiti makes me sad,
Haiti confuses me,
Haiti teaches me,
Haiti makes me strong
Haiti makes me weak
Haiti introduces me to myself
Haiti kills me.

I really think I could go on like this forever about this little nation. I have never had so many emotional ups and downs. Some days, I can go through them all within a 24 hour period. That, let me tell you is exhausing. But really, tonight, I just wanted to tell a story about how Haiti will forever make me keenly aware of all of my emotions, especially bewilderment and laughter.

One of the things you hear alot from people who are associated with Haiti in any way is "well, it's Haiti" or "only in Haiti" and that is what I thought tonight.

So, today, when I opened the gate to put my car in the drive way, I had an UN-invited visitor. A CHICKEN. Yes, I said a chicken. Now, in Haiti, people allow their animals to roam around, and if something happens to them, then well, someone is responsible. So, I was a bit freaked out that the two Great Dane puppies that are in the yard might devour this guest and all I could think, was "oh brother, how much will I have to pay some poor Haitian man for his chicken."

Well, the dogs chased the bird around the yard for a while and all I could do was stand there bewildered, wondering what would be the future of this bird and my pocketbook. But, this little chick was fast, she got away from both of those dogs many many times. Eventually, she made it to the porch (which the dogs are not allowed on, and amazingly, they didnt' come in) and she hid behind an old chair. Hmmm, I thought, this is interesting. I closed the door to the house, as I didn't want our UN-invited guest to invite herself into the house, and I shut the door to the porch so the dogs weren't tempted, and again stood there bewildered. How long can I keep this chicken hiding behind a chair on the porch???????

So, I called a Haitian friend, and he came over to help me. I was so excited for this chicken chase and all the drama that may follow, but, to my surprise, He walked up to the chicken, picked it up and put it out the door. All in less than ONE MINUTE. Seriously, how did he do that??????? All I could invision was what would have happened had I TRIED to catch that silly thing. It would have been the scene of the century as I would probably had chased the thing all over the yard, fallen many times (and probably landed in the dog poo), never really catching the thing and it probably would have ended up dead, then I would have had to find the poor Haitian who it belonged to and pay him some outrageous amount of money for his dead chicken. Since I have no idea what chickens are worth, I am pretty sure I would have been taken for a lot of money. I am grateful for my friend and his chicken picking upping abilities. :)

Well, back to all the opening emotions, today it was amazement and smiles, tomorrow we will just have to wait and see what is in store for me. Haiti will forever amaze me and well.......It's Haiti

PROOF!!!!!

I am still a little boggled by all of this!!!! It seems so weird that after 20 months of NOTHING we now have passports!!!!!! I am in AWE, SHOCK, BEWILDERMENT AND ABSOLUTE GRATEFULNESS to all who have loved us through this! I am nervous for all of the upcoming changes, but I know that they'll be good changes so I am also excited for them!!!!

On another note, my little princess fell off the monkey bars and has a fat lip, a scratched up chin, and a loose tooth! Luckily, it's a tooth that is still a baby tooth and one she should be losing soon anyway! She is a cranky little girl and resists eating, but she'll heal up soon I'm sure! It sure is tough being a kid! :)

Luvs and hugs from the Sessions Family in Haiti!

So, today at about 2:37, I was driving and I prayed to the Lord, Father, I know this isn't too big for you! I really really would like passports today. I know the office is almost closed, but Father, please, let them release my passports, if the guy has already checked, please lay it on his heart to check again and let the office release them!

I prayed this prayer, until I parked my car, about 2:40, walked into a store, walked out and noticed a missed call at 2:45, I called it back, it was the guy who was checking on passports---WE GOT THEM!!!!!! WE HAVE OUR PASSPORTS!!!!!!!!! Did you hear a really loud OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was me this afternoon! I am so very very excited! I can hardly think straight! Thank you for all your prayers!!!! I know they work! I see it in my life everyday, and I am convinced! Prayer is powerful!!!!!! Praise the Lord for He is GOOD!!!!
