YAY!!!! A picture worked!!!

I am not adding any more!!! One is all I am attempting right now, cause I am thrilled it finally worked!!!!!!

So, Jaryse is still telling everyone that his birthday was Tuesday! It's hilarious! He is so excited about being 4! What his momma is excited about though, is that he can now sing the Michigan State Fight Song almost all the way through without help from me!!!!!!! I started singing this song to him a while ago, figuring that this was as good as any of the nursery rhymes, I mean really, who cares if Mary had a Little Lamb, when you can sing about the Spartans winning!!!!!! We were watching the MSU game yesterday and having a blast singing the Fight Song together!!! I am so proud of my little Spartan!!!!

As for Ecrissa, when she woke up this morning, she came barrelling down the stairs with a look of horror on her face. She was very concerned and kept pointing to her mouth. Finally, I figured it out-------She has her first loose tooth!!!!!!! Wow, another first that I am so very blessed to be a part of. God is so amazing and I am so thankful for every minute that I have with these 2 amazing children! I'll keep ya' posted how she does over the next few days and hopefully a picture or 2 with one less tooth!!!!!!

Problems!!!!!

Well, I have been trying to update this blog for over a week. I can't seem to upload any pictures. Which, I know Mia, that is why you read my blog, but I am sorry---it is just not working!

Anyway, it's been a busy and fun couple of weeks. We went to Jacmel for Ancheri Care's Jacmel program and had a wonderful time. The kids down there are doing wonderfully and I am so happy with their progress. Idoris, the little boy that we brought down to Jacmel from the hospital in des Chappelles is doing really well and is gaining weight and getting darker! Martin is imporving with his functional skills already! He is now sitting beautifully on his own and even moving from his belly into the sitting position!!!!! YAY!!!! I am thrilled with these kids in Jacmel!

September 23rd was Jaryse's birthday! He is 4 years old now and I am amazed that he is 4 already! We had a birthday party at Epi'dor and many friends came and he was blessed with many gifts! We had cake and ice cream and he was a very happy camper!

Things are beginning to get back to normal since all the storms. Please keep the victims of the floods in your prayers. Although things for us are back to semi-normal, it's not for them since they lost their homes and all that they had. It's a difficult time for many Haitian families.

I am trying to figure out why I can't post pics. Maybe it's the internet, maybe my computer, maybe it's just Haiti!!!! Hopefully I can get some pics up soon!

Washing the car and more car stories!

OK, so I have been trying for 2 days to update this blog, and our internet service has been so bad that I haven't been successful!!!!! So, I am really sorry that there are no pictures. We can just blame it on Haiti!!! LOL!!!!

After all these storms, the roads have been pretty muddy! I have been putting off washing the car, because the roads are so muddy and it has rained some since the major hurricanes. Well, yesterday, I couldn't take it anymore! I needed my car washed. So, the kids and I decided to wash the car. Silly mom didn't make the kids change, thinking 'well, they won't make that big of a mess'---UH, DUH, how long have you had these two?????? LOL! So, slowly, they were stripped down, first just the shirt and then eventually all the way to undies!!! LOL!!!!

They were great little helpers! And then, just as we finished washing the car-----YES, it started to rain!!!!!!!! Never fear though, the car was in the carport!!!!!!! So, I finished cleaning out the inside of the car while the kids ran around in the rain in their undies!!!!!

To finish the car stories, the next morning, as I was pulling out of the driveway something on the right driver's side wheel broke. If I were any sort of mechanical type of person, I would tell you exactly what it was, but since I am not---you'll just have to take my word for it---SOMETHING BROKE!

I called a friend of mine that is a mechanic here, I actually do therapy for his little boy that has cerebral palsy, and he came and helped me get the car to the garage so he could fix it. I needed to of course buy the part, but I didn't have any transportation, so he took me on his motorcycle downtown to the parts store. May I just add to that visual of me on the back of the motorcycle, that I had a JEAN skirt on!!!!!!! Oh well, we spent over an hour trying to get the right part and then rode back to the garage on the motorbike with the part bunji corded to the back of the motorcycle! After about 2 hours, he had my car all put back together and I was on my way to teach my class-AND made it on time!!!!!

Kurt, the guy who fixed my car, said tongue and cheek, the problem is that you washed the car!!!!! LOL!!!!

Well, that is just a glimpse of the last couple of days. Hopefully the internet will first let me post this one and let me post some more later this week!!!!

Hurricane Hanna, and I think Ike and maybe even one with a "J" name!

It is amazing to me that I have internet when it is pouring down rain and very windy outside! It appears (and by the weather outside, it seems quite obvious) that Haiti is in the path of yet another hurricane. The kids and I are safe, though I am feeling a bit chilly---which I HATE being cold, that's why Haiti suits me just fine! We came straight home from school today and relaxed together in the house and prayed that Haiti will be spared the eye of this storm. From friends of mine and other acquiantences, I have learned that northern Haiti and southern Haiti are under water. Many people have lost lives, homes, and belongings. We are fortunate in that as of right now, we have not had any significant damage or losses near us. The worst that I am personally dealing with is being cold (ok, chilly, but close enough!) and with all this extra rain the mosquito's are out in FULL FORCE!!!! YIKES. Please pray that we do NOT get eaten alive by these little things and even more that none of us end up with Malaria, or worse, Dengue Fever.

We thank you for your continued prayers. I can feel the Lord wrapping Himself around me and giving me His peace. I am still sad and confused and dealing with some hard things, but at the same time, I have the peace of the Lord and I feel that I am in His grip, safe and sound. Thank you all for loving and supporting us.

Sincerely,
Cheri Kay and the munchkins
